Eligibility Requirements

• Applicant must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must have 7 years of verifiable residency within the United States.
• Must have a valid driver’s license in the state of residency.
• Must have 3 years driving experience, with no DUIs or DWIs within the past 15 years.
• No serious misdemeanors (theft, fraud, assault or abuse) or any felony convictions.
• No conviction of child assault, endangerment, or abuse.
• No convictions of moral turpitude.
• No refusals to test for pre-employment or random drug/alcohol in the last 3 years and no positive tests ever.
• Must be able to pass a DOT/School bus physical exam and First Students physical dexterity test.
• First Student will not hire any applicant with more than two (2) moving violations on their driving record within the last 3 years, or more than one (1) moving violation within any twelve (12) month period over the last 24 months. It does not matter if you paid a fine, forfeited bail, or did time. It does not matter if the sentence is served, deferred or suspended. Those are degrees of punishment, not guilt. It also does not matter whose vehicle you were driving: your own, a school bus, or someone else’s vehicle.
